  1. Whom do I call after an accident?

  2. You can contact Route 15 Body Works for assistance in towing your vehicle, and we will promptly write an estimate and contact your insurance company to get your vehicle back on the road quickly!

    According to SD state law, an accident must be reported to law enforcement if the accident occurred within a traffic way OR if a personal injury/fatality occurred OR if personal property damage is apparent to at least $1000 for one person’s property or $2000 of combined property in the accident.

  3. What are the differences in types of car insurance?

  4. The three types of car insurance available are liability, comprehensive, and full coverage.

    Liability: covers the other person’s property/injury in an accident, not your own (unless the other person is uninsured and, in effect, takes the place of liability insurance the other party should have had)
    Comprehensive: includes liability and covers “acts of God” (ex. storm damage, fire, vandalism, damage caused by animals/birds, rock chips,¬†theft)
    Collision coverage: includes liability and comprehensive, and covers any damage to your own vehicle that occurs in an accident

  5. What is a deductible?

  6. The amount you have to pay out-of-pocket for repair expenses before insurance will cover the remaining costs.

    The deductible is paid directly to the repair facility.

  7. Do I have to take my vehicle to the repair shop my insurance company suggests?

  8. No.Every customer has the right to take their vehicle to the facility of their choice.If your insurance company tells you to take it to a specific shop and you want to bring it to Route 15 Body Works, inform your insurance company of your rights.If you have questions, you can call Route 15 Body Works (605-938-5559) to help deal with your insurance company.

  9. How long will it take to repair my vehicle if it has been in an accident?

  10. If the vehicle is still driveable, it typically takes three days to repair.

    If the vehicle is non-driveable, our goal is to have your vehicle back to you within 5-7 days.

    Windshields take half a day to install.

  11. Does Route 15 Body Works warranty their work?

  12. Yes, we strive to give you the best service you can find, and we stand behind all of our work.
    Our paint has a lifetime warranty for collision repair.

    All parts come with the manufacturer’s warranty.

  13. How long do I have to wait to wash my car after it has been painted?

  14. One week.

  15. Why should I buy a “repairable” car?

  16. You typically save 25% off list vehicle price when you buy a repairable car.

    If you buy a repairable from Route 15 Body Works, you can be assured that you will be getting a quality vehicle that has been repaired properly.

  17. How often should I rotate my tires? Buy tires?

  18. Rotate your tires every 5,000 miles.

    You should buy new tires based on the “penny test.”¬† Place a penny head-first into several tread grooves across the tire.If you always see Lincoln’s head, your treads are shallow and your tires should be replaced.

  19. Can I get an estimate for a restoration project (fixing up a classic car/hot rod)?

  20. No, there are too many unknowns to give an accurate estimate (ex. hidden rust, price and availability of parts).In addition to parts and paint costs, we charge $50/hour, so the amount of hours put into restoring your car will also determine the cost.
